Gwendolyn is a scary muppet fairy. And King Cthulu Spider CARES NOT FOR YOUR REQUIREMENTS!

And now it is time to SCHLUB AROUND THE HOUSE! Schlub-a dub dub!

And when I schlub around the house I schlub aROUND the… yeah okay.

Shoujo manga is always the answer!

It was really fun drawing those comic covers… They still look like a man drew them, though, I think, since I shaded them… usually the main characters in these manga have more flat-looking, symbolic faces - it helps you get sucked into them and identify with them more easily. You can often tell what sex the creator of a comic is by seeing which sex he or she more carefully renders; the sex that looks more like objects than symbols is the one the artist isn’t.

Lots of manga artists have a more sophisticated grasp on this, though; characters that the main character sees for the first time and is attracted to often look more objective, and then start looking more symbolic as the main character gets to know them. It’s a cool technique! One that I wouldn’t even know about except for reading Understanding Comics, which is an awesome book; you should read it.

Until next week… have a nice relationships.
